Dubai Tourist Visa for Filipinos 2026: Requirements & Process

Quick answer: Filipino citizens need a UAE tourist visa before travelling to Dubai. There's no visa on arrival for ordinary Philippine passports. You can apply online for a 30-day, 60-day or 90-day visa with just a passport copy and a photo. On Kite Star Tourism's 90-day leisure visa, complete applications are submitted the same day, and approval usually comes the next day. A tourist visa is for visiting only. It isn't a work visa.

Do Filipinos Need a Visa for Dubai?
Yes. The Philippines isn't on the UAE's visa-free or visa-on-arrival list, so every ordinary Philippine passport holder needs a visa approved before boarding. Airlines check this at check-in in Manila, Cebu, Clark or wherever you fly from, and they won't let you board without a valid UAE e-visa.
The visa is issued electronically. You don't need to visit the UAE Embassy in Manila, and you don't need a stamp or sticker in your passport. Once it's approved you receive a PDF e-visa by email, which you print and carry with you.
Exceptions: Filipinos who already hold a valid UAE residence visa don't need a tourist visa. Some Filipinos who hold a valid US visa or green card, or a UK or EU residence permit, may qualify for a UAE visa on arrival. That rule depends on the document's validity and can change, so ask us on WhatsApp before relying on it.

Which visa should you choose?
Going for a holiday of 1–3 weeks? The 30-day visa is usually the cheapest choice.
Visiting a parent, spouse or sibling who works in the UAE? The 60-day or 90-day visa gives you more time and saves you from extending or exiting and re-entering.
Want to stay as long as possible on one visa? The 90-day leisure visa is available to Philippine passports, and it also has the fastest posting time on our desk.
Flight in less than a week? Choose the express visa, or the 90-day visa if it suits your trip.
The visa period counts from your date of entry into the UAE, not from the day the visa is issued. You must enter before the entry deadline printed on the e-visa, which is usually within 58–60 days of issue.
Documents Required for Filipinos
For the UAE visa itself, the list is short:
Passport copy: a clear colour scan of the Philippine passport bio page, valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date. All four corners must be visible, with no glare on the photo or the machine-readable lines at the bottom.
Photograph: recent, in colour, with a white background, no glasses and a neutral expression. A phone photo against a white wall works if it's sharp and evenly lit, but selfies usually get rejected. See the photo specifications.
Depending on your profile, the form may also ask for:
Residence permit or work visa copy: if you live outside the Philippines, for example as an OFW in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Hong Kong or Singapore.
Previous UAE visa or residence cancellation papers: if you've lived or worked in the UAE before.
Supporting documents for minors: such as a birth certificate (PSA copy) when a child travels with one parent or with relatives.
Tips for Philippine passport details
Middle name: Philippine passports print your mother's maiden surname as your middle name. Enter it in full, exactly as printed. Don't shorten it to an initial.
Married women: use the name in your current passport. If you married but haven't renewed your passport, apply in your maiden name.
Suffixes: include "Jr.", "III" and similar suffixes if they're on the passport.
Old passports: if your passport expires within 6 months of your trip, renew it at DFA first. A visa issued on an old passport doesn't transfer to the new one.
How Filipinos Apply for a Dubai Visa Online (Step by Step)
Open the Dubai visa page for Philippine passports.
Set your country of residence. If you're an OFW living abroad, choose the country where you live now, not the Philippines.
Choose the 30-day, 60-day or 90-day visa, or express processing if you're travelling soon.
Enter your name exactly as printed in the passport, including your full middle name. Don't use nicknames or initials.
Upload the passport copy and photo, then pay online by card.
Our visa desk checks your documents and submits the application to UAE immigration.
Track progress on the Track Visa page. The e-visa arrives by email as a PDF.
Check every detail on the e-visa against your passport (name, passport number, date of birth). Tell us straight away if anything is wrong.

Dubai Visa Processing Time for Filipinos
Stage | Typical time |
|---|---|
Document check by our desk | A few hours on working days |
Standard 30/60-day visa decision | 2–4 working days |
90-day leisure visa | Submitted same day, approval usually next day |
Express visa | 24–48 hours |
The UAE weekend is Saturday and Sunday, and processing can pause on UAE public holidays. Philippine holidays don't affect UAE processing, but they do make flights and BI counters busier, so apply at least 1–2 weeks before you fly if you can.
Leaving the Philippines: Bureau of Immigration (BI) Tips
Your UAE visa gets you into Dubai. To leave the Philippines as a tourist, you also need to pass the Bureau of Immigration departure check at NAIA, Mactan-Cebu, Clark or another international airport. This step is separate from the UAE visa, and we can't control it. Officers may ask for:
Your printed UAE tourist e-visa
A confirmed return or onward ticket
A hotel booking, or an invitation letter, Emirates ID copy and passport copy from the relative you're staying with
Proof you can pay for the trip, such as a bank statement, certificate of employment, ITR or business registration (DTI/SEC)
An approved leave from your employer, if you're employed
Proof of relationship (PSA birth or marriage certificate) if a relative is sponsoring your trip
Having these ready makes the departure interview quicker. Book a refundable hotel and a return flight with us if you need confirmations.
Before you go to the airport
Register on eTravel: all departing passengers must complete the free eTravel registration at etravel.gov.ph, usually within 72 hours of departure. Ignore websites that charge for it.
Pay the travel tax: Filipino tourists pay the Philippine travel tax (currently PHP 1,620 for economy and PHP 2,700 for first class), unless it's already included in the ticket. OFWs with valid exit documents are exempt.
Answer honestly: keep your story simple and consistent. Say where you're staying, how long, and who's paying. Your documents should support what you say.
First-time travellers: expect more questions. A clear itinerary, return ticket and proof of ties to the Philippines (a job, a business, studies or family) help a lot.
Applying as an OFW From Another Country
Many Filipinos apply for a Dubai tourist visa while working elsewhere, for example to visit family in Dubai during their annual leave. That's allowed:
Set your country of residence to where you live now.
Upload your residence permit (iqama, QID, HKID or similar) if the form asks for it.
Make sure your residence permit is valid for your whole trip, so you can return to your work country.
If you're flying straight from your work country to Dubai, Philippine BI rules don't apply to that trip.
If you're an OFW on vacation in the Philippines and you want a side trip to Dubai, you'll go through BI departure checks as a tourist, so carry the documents listed above.
Important: A Tourist Visa Is Not a Work Visa
Many Filipinos are offered "visit visa first, job later" arrangements, often through social media recruiters. Be careful:
Working on a UAE tourist visa is illegal and can lead to fines, deportation and an entry ban.
Philippine authorities treat leaving the country as a tourist with the aim of working abroad as a serious violation. It can get you stopped from boarding, and it's a common route for human trafficking and illegal recruitment.
If you have a genuine job offer, your UAE employer must apply for an employment visa, and you'll need the proper DMW processing and an OEC (OFW Pass) in the Philippines.
You can attend job interviews on a tourist visa. You can't start work, even for a "trial period", until your employment visa is issued.

Common Reasons Filipino Applications Get Delayed
The middle name is missing or abbreviated
The married name on the application doesn't match the passport
The passport photo is a selfie, blurred or has a coloured background
The passport scan is cropped, dark or has glare on the details
The passport has less than 6 months' validity
A previous overstay, absconding case or unpaid fine in the UAE wasn't mentioned
An old UAE residence visa was never cancelled after leaving a job
If you've had a UAE visa rejected before, tell us before applying. We'll check what's likely to have caused it and whether a new application makes sense. See also how to avoid a UAE tourist visa rejection.
Arriving in Dubai and Staying Legally
At Dubai airport: carry the printed e-visa, your return ticket and your hotel or host address. Immigration may scan your eyes or face and take your fingerprints.
Counting your days: your stay starts on your entry date. Note your exit deadline as soon as you land.
Overstaying: UAE immigration charges daily fines for every day you stay past your visa, and overstaying can lead to a ban. Leave on time, or extend before your visa ends.
Extensions: some tourist visas can be extended from inside the UAE (see Dubai visa extension). Message us at least a week before your visa expires to check your options.
Help in the UAE: the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai help Filipino nationals with lost passports and emergencies.
